The Dolphin Dip Extravaganza is an annual New Year's Day tradition in Surf City, North Carolina, where participants plunge into the Atlantic Ocean to "wash away" the previous year and welcome the new one. Festivities begin at 11:00 AM at the Roland Avenue Beach Access, featuring entertainment such as costumed participants, belly dancers, and even dinosaurs. The main dip occurs at noon sharp.
