TOPSAIL ISLAND - The Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting boat entry applications to the Dec. 11, Greater Topsail Christmas Flotilla.
“The chamber is already in the spirit of the holidays as we plan another successful flotilla event,” said Tammie Parris, chairman of the Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
“We welcome boaters in our area to deck out their watercraft in holiday lights and enter the flotilla.”
Registration information is available on the Greater Topsail Area website, www.topsailchamber.org under the events tab.
Boats will line up at 5 p.m. at Bush Marina in Topsail Beach and leave for Surf City’s Soundside Park for a 5:30 p.m. arrival.
All sizes of boats are welcomed; however, kayaks are not permitted in the flotilla due to safety concerns.
The cost to enter a boat into the flotilla is $40 for non-chamber members or $20 for chamber members. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorations.
A Captain’s informational meeting is set for Dec. 9, starting at 7 p.m. at the chamber’s office, 13775 Hwy 50, Suite 101.
The Topsail Flotilla and Christmas Market event begins at 5 p.m. with the Christmas Market in Soundside Park, 517 Roland Ave. Shop the gift ideas of more than 40 vendors.
“The event will conclude by 8 p.m.,” said Parris. “There will be holiday music in Soundside Park for a day of holiday family fun.”
