Extending 850 feet into the Atlantic Ocean, the Jolly Roger Pier has long been an area landmark known not only for its superb fishing, but also as a great place to stroll. The pier is fully lit at night and an evening stroll is a tradition for many generations of Topsail vacationers. For the expert or novice fisherman, the Pier has a fully stocked tackle shop, with all bait and tackle for pier, surf, sound, and offshore fishing. Rod rentals, ice, snacks, domestic and imported beer, and other beverages are also available. The tackle shop also carries a complete line of beach necessities, from sunscreen and toiletries, to Jolly Roger branded hats and t-shirts. Our staff is a great source of local information and lore, and we're open early and late for your convenience. Next door is our Oceanfront Motel and don’t forget to grab a bite to eat at our grill.

Located on the mainland side just west of the Surf City Bridge, the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue Rehabilitation Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick and injured sea turtles. An important component of the mission is education outreach pertaining to sea turtles, the ocean and conservation. Come and see the recovering turtles and take a tour of our facility. Tours are available June through December. Check our website and Facebook page for seasonal hours which vary. We have lots of turtle items in the gift shop that are sure to delight you and their purchase helps to fund our program. We are an all volunteer-run organization and appreciate your support. For more than twenty years volunteers with the Topsail Turtle Project have monitored the beaches of Topsail Island, staking off and protecting the nests of endangered sea turtles. The Missiles and More Museum opens in April and showcases their Women Airforce Service Pilot exhibit that traces the history of this elite group of women and pays tribute to their service and valor during WWII. Spinnaker Surf Shop is a local family-owned store established in 1988 located in the heart of Surf City, on Topsail Island where you can rent a surfboard for $20 for 24 hours. The store is less than 100 yards from the ocean's edge where surfers and swimmers are free to swim anywhere except under the fishing pier. As you cross over the bridge onto the island, you can see the Jolly Roger flag flying high above the store during hours of operation. When you've had enough sun on the beach just walk over the dune and chill in the shade of the Arcade at Spinnakers and enjoy pool tables, foosball games, and a large video game selection. Bare feet and sandy suits allowed!

Topsail Island's first fishing pier. Originally built in 1948, it was destroyed by Hurricane Fran in 1996 and totally rebuilt and reopened in August of 1997. We have a large selection of bait and fully stocked tackle shop with rental equipment. We also have a gift shop with souvenirs and T-shirts. For your convenience, we have two large fish cleaning stations and lighting for all night fishing. Our grill is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving seafood and American foods. Enjoy our family fun environment with no alcohol.
