Ecological Marine Adventures provides kids with an exciting opportunity to explore the coast of Topsail Island. We are a Marine Education Center that specializes in the education of children. We offer a wide variety of activities with something for the whole family! Kids can participate in Ocean Adventure Day Camps, Beach Adventure Walks, Little Guppy's Surf School and Family Night Time Ghost Crab Hunts! Children participating in EMA adventures will have fun, learn cool stuff and see the world in a new and exciting way!

Located on the mainland side just west of the Surf City Bridge, the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue Rehabilitation Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick and injured sea turtles. An important component of the mission is education outreach pertaining to sea turtles, the ocean and conservation. Come and see the recovering turtles and take a tour of our facility. Tours are available June through December. Check our website and Facebook page for seasonal hours which vary. We have lots of turtle items in the gift shop that are sure to delight you and their purchase helps to fund our program. We are an all volunteer-run organization and appreciate your support. For more than twenty years volunteers with the Topsail Turtle Project have monitored the beaches of Topsail Island, staking off and protecting the nests of endangered sea turtles. The Missiles and More Museum opens in April and showcases their Women Airforce Service Pilot exhibit that traces the history of this elite group of women and pays tribute to their service and valor during WWII. Other exhibits at the Museum include Pirates of the Carolinas, NASA Operation Bumblebee, Camp Davis, The communities of Topsail Island, Topsail's Natural Beauty and Fragility, Traces of Native Americans on the Island and an International Shell Exhibit.

Site of one of the first battles in the South of the Revolutionary War and the first patriot victory of the war. Throughout the park, remnants remain of the 1776 road traveled by patriot and loyalist forces. A .7-mile trail with wayside exhibits leads through the battlefield and across Moores Creek. The historic bridge site is located along the trail. The park offers a visitor center with exhibits, lighted troop movement maps and film, a .3 mile colonial forest trail, and a picnic area. Surf City Surf School, owned and operated by island native Cody Leutgens and a topnotch crew of instructors and knowledgable staff, is here to serve Topsail Island with professional surf instruction for any age or ability, from toddlers to grandparents! During our daily shred lessons or private lessons, we pride ourselves in safety, ocean knowledge and, of course, SURFING! Located in the heart of Surf City, we are the only surf school on all of Topsail's 26 miles. Every skill level, any individual, anyone and everyone! With our ever-growing number of students, we remain at a 100% success rate in instruction, and we take pride in that fact. The reasons, the drive, the inner sources behind Surf City Surf School go on and on. There's no cap, nor top to why we love to teach surfing. A family-style skating rink is located in Topsail Beach above the Post Office. Equipped with wooden floors, open windows, disco ball and great music. This rink is typically open 7 PM - 10 PM nightly during the summer and sometimes off season hours are offered. Check their Facebook for updated information. Roller skating only: no skateboards
